Evaluation & Therapy Services

Evaluations

Before beginning therapy, we will first meet for an evaluation, allowing us to establish an initial rapport with your child and begin to build trust. Evaluations also provide insight into your child's specific communication needs and sensory profile, creating a strong foundation for therapy.

During the evaluation, your child will have time for free play to adjust to the new environment while we discuss their history. During this time, we will also gather a language sample and observe how your child plays and communicates and any sensory differences they may have.

After the evaluation we will share our findings and collaborate to create meaningful goals and a personalized plan for therapy.

Our Approach to Therapy

At Seashore Speech and Language, therapy is child-led and play-based, while always intentional and evidence-informed. Every activity, whether it’s reading, exploring sensory bins, playing with kinetic sand, or enjoying music, is designed to capture your child’s interests and keep them engaged.

We weave in sensory-motor activities like swinging, climbing, jumping, or relaxing in a cozy corner to support regulation and readiness for communication.

Most of all, we believe real growth happens when children feel safe, connected, and regulated. That’s why our sessions look and feel like play— because meaningful communication thrives in moments of joy and connection.

Start the Conversation

Speech Therapy for Speech Sound Disorders

Speech therapy for speech sound disorders will help your child develop the skills to communicate clearly and confidently with less frustration and increased social interaction.

Each session is tailored to your child’s unique needs and will help them learn the correct placement for the tongue, lip, and teeth when producing speech sounds.

We practice these sounds using multimodal cueing to provide the most support during therapy, incorporating movement and fun into our sessions instead of drill work at a table.

Speech Therapy for Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Therapy for childhood apraxia of speech will help your child strengthen the motor planning needed for smooth, coordinated speech.

Each session focuses on supporting the brain-body-mouth connection so your child can produce sounds, syllables, and words more clearly.

We use movement-based strategies, hand cueing, visuals, and multi-sensory supports to reduce frustration and help your child build confidence in speaking.

Early Intervention & Speech Therapy for Late Talkers

Speech therapy for late talkers will support your child’s early communication skills, increase connection, and reduce frustration.

Each session uses fun, play-based activities to build vocabulary, understanding of concepts, and opportunities for expressive language.

Families learn simple strategies to use at home during daily routines, so progress continues outside of the clinic.

Therapy for Language Delays & Disorders

Language therapy will help your child understand and express themselves more effectively in everyday life.

Each session supports receptive skills such as following directions and understanding vocabulary, along with expressive skills like sharing thoughts, needs, and feelings.

We use motivating, meaningful activities to make language practice fun, building confidence and stronger connections at home, school, and with peers.

Therapy for Gestalt Language Processing

Therapy for gestalt language processing (or delayed echolalia or scripting) is all about meeting your child where they are and making communication feel natural and fun. Sessions will incorporate your child’s interests and sensory needs to create a calm, safe environment where communication can thrive.

During therapy, your child will transition from scripting to more flexible and meaningful communication, while increasing engagement, attention, and self-expression.

Connection is always the key to communication, and every session is designed to support your child’s unique journey in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
